MY TONGUE MY POWER

emceeing allows souls to own power of your word creation

Everyone defines power differently, each person understands the word tongue differently, following this era of the high growing patriotic hip-hop movements in Uganda, many rappers have defined the word tongue as one the most pivotal body parts towards the growth of communities, economically and communally in terms of transforming lives and strengthening hearts of this generation lost in different definitions of civilization.

As we all agree that the spirit of patriotism and need to revive the lost black tradition and culture among the underground emcees has rose and crossed from town to town, from ghetto to ghetto and in all hiphop communities of Uganda. In a direct conversation that we had with CORP ZAC a pastor and emcee, he defined the tongue as his power and fire that has enabled him travel this life journey as a patriot.

WHO IS YOU?

corp zak expressing hiphop culture in a more traditional vibration

Hi there, this is Corp Zack emcee omujassi represent the black race band and Talanta youth movement. Hip-hop is my culture I live and Jinja is where i was born, Jinja is where I have grown from but our ancestral grounds are in kyema, Masindi district where i will sleep after earth life, where my late father is sleeping and all my ancestors.

WHAT IS HIPHOP?

Hip-hop is expression, independence and self realization that opens your mind and soul to understand your purpose and value you add to your community and people around you.

Fact is my journey in hip-hop has always been a blessing, you know in most times if you keep real to the hip-hop culture and deep into its principles, your roots and tongue; you become so sensitive to yourself roots and tongue. They become power and strength that keeps you going miles with a lot of hope. Going back to the source is a real black indigenous mind that collects me back to my consciousness that reconnects my mind to my ancestors, to my history and to where all my blessings begin from. The purpose of going back to your ancestral source is not to forget where you originate from and stay proud of your indigenous culture as well Deeping into your born purpose in community.

In all communities, we all know that there are tools that can either separate us or unify us towards a common cause. One of the most important and vital tool is the tongue, a lot are considered but the tongue its only taken to be a tasting body part, its considered miner but to be honest, everything

happens because of word created by tongue, tongue is power, tongue is fire, tongue can destroy, it can create and kill. From the genesis, God used word of tongue and created the all world. Wars never begin with guns but with tongue.

There is something important I discovered about tongue, i have seen people being healed by only the word of tongue, i have seen masses being misled by the word of tongue, i have witnessed success in the word created by tongue, we have all seen artists who have used tongue to survive. Tongue is something that defines a person, tongue is key that connects us to a language that we use to communicate.

''Evil mind will always have a negative tongue that doesn't liberate souls'' and vice versa, in other wards our minds connect with our tongue and finally to the language we use.

Connecting the use of tongue and language to hip-hop, generally it’s like many have rose and used the word "HIPHOP" without fully understanding the purpose to why they represent the culture, many use the word hip-hop but in their minds they are not building it but rather exploiting the available opportunities in the culture, but fact with tongue and reality is that at one point in history of time, always truth will come with all it long waiting force to liberate the voice of the people. For example, there are these plantations called elephant grass, they more like sugarcanes when they are still young but as they grow one can differentiate them from the sugarcane, so it’s the same going on not only in hip-hop scene but in all systems and policies where capitalism tradition has negatively encrypted into the minds of this generation. So that’s the point, there are royal people who value the use of their tongues and languages, there are free liberated souls that don't sleep to make sure that their voices impact their societies and am so proud to be a part of a movement that represents the voice of the people thus building hope. Our people are living a miserable life and i can't always wait for the media which is influenced by the west. Fact is radios stations, TV stations, newspapers and most media platforms have failed to reach the pain of people, they are not teaching for unification of our disconnected generation, from the music they play to the news they bring to us, truth has been hidden. ''CHALLENGES IN AFRICA ARE DIFFERENT FROM THOSE OF WEST''

Look, each time that we keep silent for the truth and the ongoing situation in our economy, the level of dying pregnant mothers’ increase, the street kids continue to starve, the education system continues to weaken, the poor continue to be poorer. How many times will we keep silent about the corrupt ministers and all other government officials?

It’s now the high time to wake up, to rise up and open our minds and free our souls from mental slavery. This is the time for us to stand for our rights and liberate our generation. Guns are not strong than our voices so let’s now value the power of tongue and language as the foundation keys of championing a unified and free liberated generation that can stand for the purpose of reviving the lost African culture through serving, love and standing with a big heart of staying proud of who we are. As i have told you, let our tongues create good for our societies but not bad since community is so much important towards each person's purpose living in it.

''Good trees bare good fruits and bad trees bare bad fruits, good trees will never bare bad fruits and bad trees will never bare good fruits'' So just know that if you use your tongue to seed positivity, your

testimonies will be positive too and like wise.
